Objective: quickly reach high ranking for highly valued search phrases on the primary search engines (google in particular plus yahoo & bing)
One of the co-owners of that business just sent me this in an email (on February 11, 2013):
"We are getting way more web calls then before. I'm also giving your name and number to my friend who has a locksmith business and is not having much success with web hits."
Summary:
Below are the details of some very valuable favorable results on google (with screenshot images below) that I produced for a client's existing website, starting with the search term "garage door repair glendale." That term gets 480 searches per month (with estimated value per click at $28), according to google.

and, as of February 11th, #2:
I started working with this client in December 2012. At that time, here is what I emailed to her (showing the rankings for Glendale and Phoenix and a few other AZ cities).
As you can see, they were ranking in the low 30s on google for "garage door repair glendale" and in the low 40s for "garage door repair glendale AZ." (Note that there is a large city named Glendale in California as well as Arizona, as well as smaller Glendales in other states.)
On December 20th, for the latter search term, their site was #43. However, I had done quite a bit of work to improve the site's rank for that city in particular and I was checking to see how fast google was going to re-rank the site. The site jumped up to #15 for the same search on December 22nd, 2012, which was the next day that I checked for that search term.
The clients were impressed with the quick rise (at a cost that they found quite appealing). So, I kept working. By the 8th of January, the site was at #10 on google for "garage door repair glendale." Below are some images of what happened as I did the next wave of improvements in early February, 2013.

Next, here is how that increase in search engine position has resulted in increased views by people searching google. Note that the chart does not show CLICKS, but just the number of times that their website has shown up in google searches. (If you look just over the chart, you can see that after 3,500 impressions- in blue-, this site got 50 clicks- in red). By the way, this chart shows a 3 month time period ending February 6, 2013 (the day that this site reached #3 for "garage door repair glendale").
UPDATE!
Again, up to #2 by February 11th:

Note that by February 7th, the number of times that people searching on google for garage door repair glendale viewed a search result page containing my client's site reached 170 for that single day, which was even higher than the prior daily high (150).
As of February 12, the site was still at #2 for the search term shown above, also now up to #3 for almost the same search phrase BUT WITH "AZ" ADDED. For the longer search phrase, google shows the monthly volume of searches at 210 per month (with a $36 estimated value per click) and the primary search has 480 searches per month (with estimated value per click at $28). Note that one reason that the search phrase with AZ would be valued more by businesses in that industry could be related to the fact that there is also a decent-sized city of Glendale in another state besides AZ.

February 11th was the 3rd straight day that the client's website showed up 150 times in google search results:
By February 19th, for 6 of the last 7 days, the site had 200 appearances in google search results (up quite a bit from below 50/day early in the chart):
By March 7th, the site broke 300 views/day:
That continued for much of March, until the client told me to "back off" until they hired another garage door repairman. Here are several months as of May 28th:
